Arjit Singh Says He Did Pasoori Remake for a Noble Cause

Did he just confesse that there is a noble cause behind this blunder?

The most loved singer from across the border, Arjit Singh, after receiving quite a backlash from Pakistan as well as India on the remake of the popular Coke Studio 14 song ‘Pasoori’, confessed the real reason behind ‘Pasoori Nu’. The star revealed that he was promised a yearly fund for a school for the underprivileged.

Apparently, Arjit took on the song so he could support a charity. A bunch of tweets and screenshots, apparently from Arjit’s unverified Twitter account, are going viral. He said that he struck a deal with producers at T-Series to support a noble cause.

When a fan asked him why he signed the deal, the singer said, “The maker has promised me a yearly fund for a school for the underprivileged”.

In another tweet, he said, “The maker has promised me a yearly fund for a school for the underprivileged. That’s more important. Thode gaali kha lenge (I’m fine with criticism).”

Arjit also talked about ‘propaganda’. He said, “We as music lovers don’t want to see people bringing down an artist. Understand this is all propaganda. Industry makes and breaks an artist as per their convenience. We fight because they want us to”.

He also requested his fans not to be biased,

For the unversed, the music video for “Pasoori Nu,” released on Monday, is another generic Bollywood music video for the upcoming film, ‘Sathyaprem Ki Katha’. The video features Karthik Aaryan and Kiara’s romance with each other, leaving viewers cringing in the comments. In comparison to the original Pasoori by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill, Arijit Singh’s remake is a tone-deaf approach to the one produced by Xulfi and Coke Studio.
