Asif Raza Mir Returns In British Series ‘Gangs of London’

Mir plays the role of a Pakistani drug lord in the British series.

A lot of actors are lately stepping into Hollywood for their exceptional acting skills and Asif Raza Mir happens to be one. The veteran actor also showcased his expertise in CTV’s Gangs of London  Season 1, earlier this year.

The show is reported to be returning for Season 2. The record-breaking series has been praised for its contemporary take on the gangster genre and cinematic fight sequences. It follows rival gangs and other criminal groups in modern-day London.

Mir plays the role of a Pakistani drug lord in the British series. He also plays the father of a politician who is planning on running for the Mayor of London.

Recently, the Khalish actor took it to his gram and shared the teaser of the Season 2

While in conversation with CTV Asif Raza Mir stated that;

“The nice thing about this project that I personally liked is that it’s a typical crime gangster series but every individual (in it) has his own backstory and at the same time it has the human side of it, the family, the emotions”

He further added that when he first read the script of Gangs Of London it reminded him of The God Father series and that’s what inspired him to star in the series.

“If you remember The Godfather series, where the characters had their own emotional storylines. That’s when I read the script, it sort of looked very similar to that”

Gangs Of London has also won the BAFTA TV Award for the Best Drama Series and Production Design.

Gangs of London is created by a visionary award-winning filmmaker of The Raid film franchise, Gareth Evans, and his creative partner Matt Flannery.

Gangs of London Season 2 is expected as released on April 14, 2022.

“The overwhelming reaction and record-breaking success in the UK of the first season of Gangs of London has been phenomenal, and we are thrilled to continue this epic journey with such riveting characters for season two with our amazing cast, crew and partners. We look forward to teaming up again with our friends at Sky and welcoming AMC on board as our US broadcast partner. AMC is the perfect home for our show, and we cannot wait for audiences stateside to experience series one this Autumn.” said Thomas Benski, CEO & Founder of Pulse Films.
