Ayeza Khan’s latest drama serial Yaariyan will revolve around the theme of loveless marriages’. It will be an interesting one to watch. where Ayeza’s character Zubi will be depicted as a wife who is not able to accept her partner in an arranged marriage.

Ayeza Khan’s role will be that of an unhappy bride. Her character falls for a man when she’s actually married to someone else. The Pyarey Afzal actress spilled the details on her character, who is unhappily married to a man she has no feelings for.
Yaariyan Plot
The story revolves around two sisters. One that just accepts the reality of her arranged marriage. While the other is stuck in an unhappy marriage and it’s’ preventing others from being happy as well.
“There are two sisters, but they have separate stories. One accepts her married life and is happy. The other is unhappily married and refuses to let others be happy either.”
While Ayeza Khan essays the role of Zubi, Momal Sheikh will be playing her sister Sadia.
The Plot
Sometimes when two partners, especially in an arranged marriage, cannot accept each other, a harsh reality dawns on them. This usually happens when the couple don’t have any say on choosing their partner.
“My character falls hard in love with a man but ends up getting married to someone else. Unfortunately, she cannot accept the person she married and because of that unhappiness she doesn’t let the man she’s married to be happy either.”
Ayeza Khan is very firm on the fact that an inability to compromise does not make Zubi a bad person. She is just selfish at times (for her own mental well-being) and people end up considering it as wrong.
“But at times she becomes selfish, which people find wrong.”
Although Ayeza is happily married to beau Danish Taimoor, the Mere Mehrban actress stated that she didn’t have a disconnect with her character.
She understands the pain of being married off to a partner you can’t accept at a time when you haven’t gotten over heartbreak.
“My character’s been through a lot. I have done scenes in the drama where I actually cried. On Zubi’s wedding night, she remembers her lover, and [while doing that scene] I cried so much that the cast said I did a great scene. I told them that I put myself in my character’s shoes and realized how I would feel if I didn’t get married to (husband) Danish (Taimoor) and that pain made me cry.”
Why Ayeza Khan Signed for Yaariyan?
The Koi Chand Rakh starlet signed the script because she felt that while there are a lot of dramas surrounding themes such as violence, divorce, and conflict between sisters Yaariyan cast light on a more relatable story.
 “It’s a story of all the relationships that bind, the one you have with your parents, spouse, friends and in-laws. One of the sisters has her nikkah ceremony with a man she loves but that breaks off. It’s a really poignant story of how she picks up the pieces and tries to make her new home and husband, who doesn’t really accept her, happy.”
Yaariyan cast includes Mariyam Nafees, Hina Bayat, Shagufta Ijaz, Mehmood Aslam, Muneeb Butt. Samina Ijaz penned the story. While Wajahat Hussain directed and Erum Bint Shahid produced the drama.
