Aymen Saleem

Aymen Saleem is back and she is here to stay! In a recent appearance on Time Out With Ahsan Khan, the Chupkay Chupkay star shared why she decided to leave the entertainment industry, but is back now for good.

Chupkay Chupkay was a hit among the audience and the new television pairing of Aymen Saleem and Arslan Naseer was loved by the masses. So much so, that fans even started shipping them in real life, and even on an individual level, people loved their performance and wanted to see more of them.

While Arslan also appeared in the telefilm Hona Tha Pyar right after his debut in Chupkay Chupkay, Aymen announced that ‘she will no longer be acting.’ Speaking with Ahsan Khan, the actress shared why she chose to make the announcement.

“I am from a corporate background. Coming into the industry, I wasn’t fully prepared. Our industry is very different from other industries. I’ve done investment banking in New York and I’ve done consulting. Coming into showbiz is a completely different ball game altogether. I wasn’t entirely sure whether I wanted to do this or not.”

Here’s why Aymen Saleeem decided to quit acting

“Chupke Chupke was such a huge hit, and we were given so much love and support by our fans and well wishers, but if I’m being completely honest, I was a little overwhelmed. It was just so much, and I was very grateful for it, and I was really humbled, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready for this. So I wanted to make sure I take a step back, reevaluate what I want to do, and that if I come back then I should come back to stay.”

Aymen shared that she made the announcement to solidify the decision in her own mind and since she finds it hard to say “No” and reject a project, she wanted to give the message to the industry that she was not interested in pursuing any new projects at the moment.

“I wanted a break. I needed to reassess whether I even want to do this or not, and I find it a little bit hard to say no. I was reconnecting with my mentors in the industry who really helped me during this time. It wasn’t just me switching jobs, it wasn’t like going from one bank to another. That’s a 9 to 5 career and it doesn’t change much. But for me… You need to always be in your character when you’re in the public eye. Glam life was not for me. So I needed to make sure I’m ready for it.”

Moreover, the actor also revealed that she has been working on a project related to social media and trolling and wants to send a message of positivity.
