Azekah Daniel Opens Up On Being a Religious Minority In Pakistan

Azekah Daniel is a popular Pakistani TV actress. The 28-year-old has been part of the showbiz industry for some time now and is making her mark. The talented diva is famous for her titular role in Noor Jehan. Fans love her other characters like Hooriya in Malaal-e-Yaar and Sara in Tera Gham Aur Hum.

Azekah has a knack for stealing the spotlight, even she is not in a leading role. Audiences loved her stellar performances in supporting roles for drama serials like Balaa, Cheekh, and Aao Laut Chalain.

Recently, Azekah sat down with Fuchsia Magazine for an interview segment on YouTube The actress talked about her experience as a minority in the showbiz industry. Azekah belongs to a Christian family but she hasn’t let that dictate her career. While most people are sensitive about facing discrimination at the workplace, Azekah believes it isn’t a big deal for her.

“I think it doesn’t make much difference. For some it matters who make it obvious but it’s not such a big deal. Now, what’s in the hearts of people is not obvious but there isn’t any open discrimination as such,” she said.

Speaking on her experience in the showbiz, Azekah believes that the entertainment industry is not discriminatory against any minority group.

“The industry itself is very liberal, but I have to face discrimination in other matters, which is okay I guess because you have to face it anywhere if you are a minority. You just accept it and live with it and not make any big issue out of it because this is how the world runs.”

When asked if Azekah was talking about fans, she said: “Yes, some of my fans but they wouldn’t be my fans, they are just there to troll and bash.”
