Badshahi Mosque is one of the biggest cultural gems in Pakistan. Built in 1673, the mosque still stands tall and welcomes millions of people every year. It is one of the most visited tourist attractions, and in recent years, has also become a go-to spot for almost every other Nikah ceremony.
From locals to celebrities, the internet is filled with photographs of newly-wed couples posing in front of the Mughal architecture. Too bad, this can’t continue anymore.
According to phtographer Palwasha Minhas’ team, the gatekeepers of Badshahi Mosque have banned wedding photography as of Thursday, December 19.
This might be disappointing for the about to be newly-weds, however, the photography community is secretly happy because of all the hassle they have to go through. Because even if they are permitted to take the photographs, they are only provided a 15 minute time span.

Therefore, it is concluded that there won’t be any wedding photography sessions inside the mosque, at least for now. However, it is a sigh of relief for all those who have already booked their presence.
The fashion and lifestyle magazine Sunday Times wrote,
“Badshahi Mosque has banned wedding photography. Current bookings are safe but no new bookings will be taken until further notice.”

But no worries, because Lahore is packed with gorgeous mosques and the newlyweds can find so many great alternatives.
