Get ready to turn up the volume because Hanumankind is back with a bang! The Kerala-born, Houston-raised rapper has just released his latest single, “Run It Up.”
Produced by the talented Kalmi, known for his work on the hit track “Big Dawgs,” this new anthem is driven by the rhythmic beats of the chenda, a traditional Keralan drum that intensifies throughout the track, perfectly complementing HMK’s own percussive raps.
“Run It Up” isn’t just a song; it’s a battle cry that touches on themes of legacy, adversity, and motivation. HMK weaves seamlessly between the beats, breaking free from constraints and urging listeners to do the same.
Reuniting with director Bijoy Shetty, the music video for “Run It Up” is a visual feast that showcases a rich tapestry of cultural themes and cinematic storytelling.
Viewers are treated to a vibrant display of traditional Indian art forms, including martial arts like Kalaripayattu, Gatka, Thang Ta, and Mardani Khel, alongside the captivating Chenda Melam and the dance form Theyyam, all hailing from HMK’s home state of Kerala. It’s a celebration of heritage that’s as dynamic as the music itself.

The timing of this release couldn’t be better, as Hanumankind is gearing up for his debut performance at Coachella, where he’ll be showcasing his unique sound to U.S. audiences for the very first time.
Last summer, Hanumankind, Kalmi, and Bijoy Shetty teamed up for the breakout single “Big Dawgs,” which took the internet by storm. The track catapulted HMK to the global stage, peaking at #9 on the Global charts and hitting #23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
It also topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales chart and ended the year RIAA Platinum certified, joining the ranks of rap heavyweights like Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and 21 Savage.
