Bilal Abbas to Star in Mehreen Jabbar’s Web Series

Can’t wait to see him in action.

Bilal Abbas

Bilal Abbas is also moving into the world of web series with Mehreen Jabbar.

We have a love-hate relationship with Bilal Abbas right now. We love him for his portrayal of naval officer Sub-lieutenant Behram. At the same time, we hate Wajih in ARY’s drama serial Cheekh. That’s how good of an actor he is right now.

While we are excited to see Bilal Abbas as the disciplined and composed naval officer Sub-lieutenant Behram in telefilm Laal, we still need the details on Mehreen Jabbar’s next.

Not enough details for now

O Rungreza‘s Qasim isn’t letting the cat out the bag on this one. He believes its too early to give away any details (how soon is too soon really?). He did let slip that Umera Ahmed will be writing the web series with Mehreen Jabbar at the director’s helm.

“It is too early to give many details about the project, except that it is a web series that has been penned by Umera Ahmed and directed by Mehreen Jabbar. Super hyped up to be working with this team and enjoying the experience of trying the new media.”

Bilal’s much-anticipated telefilm Laal will be out on Republic Day. That will keep us occupied till they start working on the web series.

The Balaa actor is excited to be working on a web series but will he be able to win hearts with his web series the way he has with drama serials? We’re all hoping for a Qasim and Wajih level performance from him.

Mehreen Jabbar’s web series

Gulf News broke the news of Mehreen Jabbar working on a web series together back in December, 2018. They’ve really managed to keep all the details under wraps till now.

Mehreen mentioned that Group M. will produce the series. She hasn’t decided yet whether she’ll distribute this series via Netflix or Amazon.

Mehreen Jabbar has produced many modern stories with strong plots like Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Meri Zaat Zarra e Benishan and Durre Shahwar.

The last time Umera Ahmed worked with the director, they produced the 2012 hit Daam. Prior to that they worked together on Doraha and Malal.
