With Independence Day soon to be upon us, Bilal Maqsood explained the national anthem and we’ve got the shivers.

The famous Pakistani guitarist and composer explained the original meaning behind the national anthem, ‘Pak Sar Zameen’. He took to Instagram to post a video of himself playing the national anthem lyric by lyric.

Did you know that Hafeez Jalandhari penned Pakistan’s national anthem in Farsi. Since it’s in the Persian language, most people struggle to understand it.

The former member of Strings, stated how the national anthem just consists of one word in Urdu. He also attempted to briefly explain the meaning of the national anthem to the audience so that they can understand the true essence of ‘Pakistaniat’. Were those interesting revelations or were you already aware of these facts?

Bilal Maqsood further said that we just sing the national anthem and patriotic songs on 14th August and then forget about them for the rest of the year.
