Winners can spend the money as they like, but they have to answer regular questions about how they are using the money.
More than 4 million people had signed up for the contest before the deadline of January 7. Winners will be decided through a lottery, and they will receive confirmation through a direct message from Maezawa.

This is his second such stunt. In January last year; he had shared 100 million yen, roughly $914,000, among 100 Twitter users. The previous campaign had received over 4.68 million retweets.
