Just moments ago, United States of America President Donald Trump and his wife and First Lady Melania Trump have both been confirmed to test positive for coronavirus.
“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!” Trump tweeted shortly before 1 am Friday (US Time).
Earlier, Donald Trump had tweeted that he and the First Lady were planning to enter quarantine.
The decision to quarantine came after White House aide Hope Hicks, who was in close proximity to the US President, tested positive for COVID-19. She was also present with him during the debate on Cleveland on Tuesday. She was also onboard the Marine One with several other high-ranking officials of the administration –Â Jared Kushner, Dan Scavino and Nicholas Luna. Reports state that none of them were wearing any masks as Trump held a campaign rally in Minnesota on Wednesday.
