The young bride passed away moments before her rukhsati.

A wedding ceremony in India turned into an evening of tragedy after a bride passed away moments before her rukhsati. The young bride suffered a cardiac arrest after crying excessively at her wedding event.

Weddings are an emotional occasion, especially for a bride. While shedding tears and feeling anxious is a fairly common reaction for a young bride, in this case, it became fatal. Such was the case for Gupteswari Saho (aka Rosy), a young Indian bride from Odisha, marrying Bisikesan Pradhan. After crying excessively, Rosy went into cardiac arrest and passed away just moments before her rukhsati. The incident has left the family rattled.

The young bride was taken to a community health center, but it was too late. According to sources, Rosy had been crying excessively.

“We knew that she was under a lot of stress as she had lost her father a few months ago. Her maternal uncle and others were organizing the marriage. We did not expect her to die in such a way,” said a villager.

A doctor at the hospital said cardiac arrests can happen due to emotionally stressful events. In many cases, it leads to hyperventilation and impacts heart health. This is truly a tragic incident as people fail to realize the emotional toll marriage takes on a young couple on their wedding day. Rosy’s body has been sent for a post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police are currently investigating the incident and waiting for the final report after the autopsy.
