Brown Dad Things: Pakistani Google Employee’s Dad Tells Him to Get a Govt Job

Your job is worthless if its not in medicine, engineering, or the government.

A tweep posted a hilarious screenshot yesterday of his father forwarding him an application form for the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) for 2023’s jobs, completely ignorant of the fact that his son works for the multi-billion dollar company Google.

Brown Parents and Their Obsession with Government Jobs

There are just certain quintessential things that only brown parent do: talking to their kids in a formal tone: not appreciating them for their achievements; categorizing anything that’s not military, medical, or government-related as ‘Arts’ or ‘worthless’; and asking for grandkids.

Another peak brown parent habit is pushing their kids to get a government job, preferably in the civil services. As soon as you graduate, it is highly likely that your parents, and your father, in particular, would have told you at least once to apply for the CSS (Civil Superior Services) exam.

The tweep, Huzaifa Habib, explained, “I work at Google, my father sent me Federal Public Service Commission application details for 2023. Brown parents are really amazing”.

He concluded his tweet with the hashtag #SarkariNaukri.

The tweet has gone viral on social media as other desi kids online related to the experience and shared how it reminded them of their parents.

Here are a few hilarious reactions to it:

This isn’t the first time this has happened. Earlier this year, a tweep by the name of Zainab Mubashir revealed how her father asked her and her husband to apply for CSS just days after their marriage.

Whether you’re an Asian/desi content creator, a software engineer, a musician, an actor, a sports athlete, an astronaut, or even a superhero, your parents are definitely going to tell u this at least once in your lifetime:

Beti/Beta, koi sarkari naukri karlo.”
