Pakistan’s film industry is really getting past the COVID-19 pandemic as yet another film trailer is released. This time we get to set our sights on the Dhai Chaal trailer.
One of the most anticipated films of this year, the movie is based on the story of Kulbhushan Yadav. The Indian navy officer had been caught by Pakistani authorities in Balochistan while spying for Indian military intelligence.
After facing trial in a Pakistani court, Kalbhushan had been handed the death sentence for espionage. He is currently still in a Pakistani jail.
Dhai Chaal cast Ayesha Omar and Shamoon Abbasi in key roles. The movie also casts the late Rasheed Naz. The filmmakers mentioned the beloved and iconic actor in the trailer. The opening lines paid tribute to the late Khuda Kay Liye actor which reads;
‘This is a Humble Tribute to our beloved actor “Rasheed Naz”.
The rest of the cats is no less impressive, with names like Adnan Shah Tipu, Taqi Ahmed, Saleem Meraj, Humayoun Ashraf, Areej Chaudhary, Faraz Marri, Jamal Gilani, Pakiza Khan, Anya Hassan, to name a few.
Directed by Taimoor Sherazi, the film has been produced by Dr. Irfan Ashraf. While Farheen Chaudhry penned the script.
The trailer of the film suggested we’re not just looking at a typical military-patriotic film but a spy thriller. The action and mystery in this story are far more nuanced.
