Coldplay Praises the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Programme

A huge PR win for Pakistan’s fight against climate change.

World-renowned British rock band Coldplay are all praise for Pakistan’s new climate change initiative. The band took to their official social media account on Twitter to show their appreciation for Pakistan’s Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme, which is basically a forest restoration project to combat the effects of climate change.

The environment-friendly project is not just mitigating the harmful aspects of climate change but also creating more than sixty thousand job opportunities for Pakistan. This is especially beneficial for the daily wagers who have lost their jobs due to the lockdown enforced by the government in order to control the coronavirus pandemic.

The Ten Billion Tree Tsunami initiative is paying Rs 500-800 daily to these unemployed working-class citizens. Pertaining to the current situation, all workers are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

Advisor on  Climate Change, Malik Amin Aslam, believes that the COVID-19 crisis provided an opportunity and this initiative is a way of using the time more productively.

The British band Coldplay also applauded the initiative. The band has a huge fan following in Pakistan with most fans going to great lengths to attend the band’s concerts all around the world. For such great fans of the band, Coldplay praising Prime Minister Imran Khan and Pakistan’s efforts is a huge gesture. It also ensures people of the fact that the reforestation project will definitely reap great benefits.
