With the ominous threat of the coronavirus sweeping the globe, many people including celebrities have decided to maintain social distance and imposed self-isolation till the epidemic is under control. In order to boost morale and encourage the public to take precautions during these times, some celebrities are creating their own form of challenge and social initiatives to raise awareness about hygiene. One of those celebrities is Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.

While in self-isolation, Deepika has decided to give a lesson to her fans and followers. The 34-year-old actress shared a video of herself on Twitter, showing the world how to wash hands according to the guidelines issued by health officials worldwide.

However, despite the fact that the video was made with the purest intentions, the hand-washing video backfired on the Piku star as fans questioned the decision of the actress to wear a mask inside the bathroom at her home.

“Wearing mask at home and washroom too? Seriously Deepika? Too much of nautanki!” One netizen commented on the video.

However, there were still a plethora of people who applauded Deepika for spreading awareness.

“People will always troll her no matter what. But DP you’re a Queen,” said one user, while another added: “And that’s how you use your stardom to spread awareness. Well done girl.”
