The Israeli police have once again committed a heinous act of aggression against innocent Muslim worshippers at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.
This sacred site has been repeatedly desecrated by Israeli forces in recent years, and Wednesday’s attack marks yet another shameful chapter in their long history of oppression.
Take a look,
According to witnesses, the police attacked dozens of worshippers in the early hours of the morning, using brute force to quell what they called rioting.
But let’s be clear, there was no rioting. These were peaceful worshippers gathered to pray at one of the holiest sites in Islam. And yet, the Israeli police saw fit to unleash their fury upon them.
The videos circulating on social media are appalling. We see fireworks going off inside the mosque, and police officers beating people with batons. This is not a response to rioting; this is an act of terror against innocent people.
What makes matters worse is that this attack has sparked protests across the occupied West Bank, and the Israeli military claims that nine rockets were fired from Gaza toward Israel in retaliation. This is a cycle of violence that must end.
The Israeli government must be held accountable for this atrocity. They must be made to understand that their actions have consequences. They cannot continue to treat Palestinians as second-class citizens and expect there to be peace in the region.
It is time for the international community to stand up and take notice. We must speak out against this violence and demand that the Israeli government respects the rights of all people, regardless of their religion or ethnicity.
As a Muslim, I am angry and deeply saddened by this latest attack on the Al-Aqsa Mosque. This is not just an attack on a building; it is an attack on our faith and our way of life. We must stand together and demand justice for the victims of this senseless act of violence.
