Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s wedding created a frenzy on social media. She tied the knot with a UAE-based business tycoon, Mahmood Chaudhry, on 29th January. And since then netizens had been wondering if she wore a gold and diamond-studded dress on her wedding. Well, the designer has finally answered that question.
Netizens had been wondering whether Bakhtawar’s gorgeous dress was bedazzled with extra gold and diamonds. However, in a recent interview with BBC Urdu, Wardha Saleem revealed the truth.
When Bakhtawar approached us, she already had an idea about the kind of work we do. Because of her prior research on our designs, it was easy for us to figure out what she wanted.
It was also reported that Bakhtawar Bhutto wanted a Sindhi designer to work on her wedding dress. And 45 artisans worked for almost 7 months- double shifts for 3 months – to complete the look. The 31-year-old kept the dress gold and ivory to match her mother’s wedding dress hues.
Bakhtawar was also going to wear a sapphire piece from Benazir’s jewelry. So we decided to incorporate blue tones in the suit as well.
The designer also revealed that Bakhtawar was a ‘dream bride’ to work with. But did she had to go fetch diamonds and gold for the dress? Well, here’s what Wardha revealed:
Neither did we use a gold wire nor did we put in diamonds on this dress.
