Man Turns Uncle’s Skeletal Remains Into an Electric Guitar [Video]

‘Prince Midnight’, a musician from Florida, says his uncle introduced him to heavy metal.

What could a person do with the remains of a deceased loved one? Cremate them? Bury them? There are not many things you can do. However, a musician from Florida took his uncle’s skeletal remains and turned it into a fully functional electric guitar. Creative? Or straight-up ghoulish? We will let you all decide.

What happened?

According to Prince Midnight – the musician – his uncle had requested his family to donate his remains for educational purposes. When Filip died in the 90s, at the age of 28, his skeleton was medically prepared in Greece [where he passed away].

The skeleton was used in medical school classes for several years. However, the school did not need the skeleton anymore. After Filip’s parents’ death, the responsibility of his remains fell on Midnight’s mother.

Midnight’s mother, being a Greek orthodox, had two options; to pay for a burial plot, or pay a monthly fee to store the remains.

She didn’t want to pay for that anymore. And then I was like, ‘I’ll take care of it.”

So, the musician decided to get the skeletal remains for himself.

So I went through all the red tape, which is a tremendous amount of trouble. You’ve got to contact the funeral home. The State Department’s involved.

What did he do with his uncle’s skeletal remains?

At first, Midnight says, he did not know what to do with his uncle’s skeletal remains.

It just popped into my head. I’m going to turn Uncle Fil into a guitar. And I was like, that is the best way to honour him. He would love that idea

But, since he remembered Filip introducing him to heavy metal, he decided to get a little creative.

It’s pretty metal to play a guitar made out of skeleton, I have to say.

He also said that this might be the only time someone has turned a skeleton into a functional guitar.

No one’s ever made a guitar out of a skeleton, to my surprise. So there is a little bit of a learning curve
