Rumor has it that Indian actress Sanjana Galrani has converted to Islam. The starlet, who is famous in the Tamil and Telugu film industry, converted to Islam two years ago and changed her name to Mahira.

According to an Indian tabloid, the Tamil actress’ Muslim identity was exposed amid her drug scandal. Her Muslim name is Mahira. Previously her real name was Archana Manohar Galrani. Sanjana is just her stage name.

Why did Sanjana Galrani embrace Islam?

According to Jang News, the debate regarding Islam in India for the last 10 years and the ongoing anti-Islamic propaganda in the country led the Tamil actress to do her research on Islam.

After studying Islam deeply,  and indulging in religious discussions with its followers, Sanjana Galrani concluded that Islamic beliefs resonated with her.

The certificate asserts that Sanjana voluntarily converted to Islam without any pressure. A certificate of acceptance of Islam is given on the basis of an affidavit submitted by the court.

Based on the certificate, the Indian actress voluntarily converted to Islam in October 2018. She was also given a certificate of conversion to Islam by the Karnataka Shariah Department.

The certificate lists, Archana Manohar Galrani bint Manohar Galrani, age 31 years, has accepted Islam without any coercion by accepting the will of Allah and accepting Muhammad (SAW) as the last Prophet and recited her testimony (Shadadah).

It also has Sanjana Galrani’s signature, addresses, and the names, addresses, and phone numbers of two witnesses Imtiaz and Aslam Pasha.
