Strings are one of the most renowned and respected bands not just in Pakistan but all around the world. The band consisting of Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia is so iconic that most Pakistanis can’t even imagine what the 90s would have been like without Strings.

Another band that ruled the charts at the same time was Vital Signs. However, did you know that Bilal Maqsood was once offered to join Junaid Jamshed’s band?

Yes, you heard it right. During the late 90s, there was a moment in which Vital Signs band member Rohail Hayat extended an invitation to Bilal Maqsood to join their band. This surprising ‘what if’ moment was revealed by Bilal himself as he took to Instagram to share this fun little story with his fans and followers.

The singer posted a clip of him performing a Vital Signs classic “Tum Mil Gaye” and shared a fun fact.

“In 1998/99 Rohail asked me if I would like to join Vital Signs. I was sitting in his studio and right there he called Junaid [Jamshed] and told him that we should have Bilal in our band. Junaid said: NO. Rohail put the phone down and said, sorry can’t happen. Yeah, that was it. That offer came and went in 15 secs,” he wrote.

Well, we only imagine what it would’ve been like if Vital Signs had the services of the talented Bilal Maqsood with Junaid Jamshed. However, we’re glad that didn’t happen, because then we wouldn’t have gotten the chance to see how amazing the band Strings turned out to be. What do you think?
