‘Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi’ Gets Notice From PEMRA Over ‘Indecent Content’

In the past, drama serials like ‘Jalan’, ‘Pyaar Ke Sadqay’, and ‘Ishqiya’ were also banned by PEMRA.

The drama serial Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi started airing on TV One last year. The show stars many popular celebrities like Yumna Zaidi and Wahaj Ali. The story revolves around social issues like child trafficking and child abuse. Recently, PEMRA [Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority] issued a notice against the show.

In the past, shows like Jalan, Pyaar Ke Sadqay, and Ishqiya were also banned by PEMRA. These shows were given notice and then banned due to indecent content. Now, it is TV One’s drama serial that’s facing the music for the same reasons.

PEMRA took to its Twitter account to publish its press release regarding the matter. It reads:

 

PEMRA has issued a notice to TV One over the content shown in the drama serial Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi.

 

In addition to this, PEMRA also revealed that the show’s makers have been advised to follow the guidelines provided by PEMRA. They have also been given 5 days to consult with the editorial team and change the drama’s current path and make it according to the laws laid down by the federal institution.
