In a shocking display of pride and vanity, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has come under fire for bringing a real lion on a leash to a political gathering in Faisalabad.

Despite the ban, PML-N workers showcased the lion to the crowd, exploiting the majestic animal for the party’s amusement and aligning it with their electoral symbol. The grotesque display, wherein the lion was humiliated and pulled around, has drawn condemnation from netizens who expressed their disgust on various social media platforms.
PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, upon learning of the incident, took “strict notice” and immediately directed that the lion be sent back.
However, this is not the first time PML-N has resorted to such tactics, as the political party has been notorious for displaying lions during their election rallies in the past, often without facing significant consequences.
Former federal minister for information and broadcasting, Maryam Aurangzeb defended the party’s swift action, stating that Nawaz Sharif had directed the immediate removal of the lion from the rally. She emphasized that respecting animal rights is in line with the teachings of Islam and laws related to animals.
