Popular cricket legend Shahid Afridi talks about his five daughters and his thoughts about ever having a son.
Shahid Afridi is arguably one of the most charismatic cricketers in the world. Even though, ‘Boom Boom’ Afridi is no longer captivating fans with his swashbuckling brand of cricket, he continues to win the hearts of fans everywhere off the field.
The 42-year-old has put his batting gloves on the shelf to focus more on his family. Afridi is father to not one but five lovely daughters, Aqsa, Ansha, Asmara, Ajwa and the youngest Arwa Afridi.
In Pakistan, traditional culture dictates that people prefer to have sons rather than daughters. Fans have often wondered what Shahid Afridi’s plans are since all five of his children are female. Recently, Lala sat down for an interview on a YouTube channel. The reporter asks if Afridi desires to have a son. Here’s what Afridi said:
“I am blessed to have five daughters, I’m happy that Allah has given me girls, you should not long for boys but you should make your girls powerful, talented and strong, I thank Allah that he has given me healthy kids and it matters the most.”
