Donald Trump Appoints Vince McMahon as Advisor to Restart US Economy

This sounds interesting

If there’s one thing you can say about Donald Trump’s tenure as US President, it’s…. eventful. In a recent attempt to help the United States economy improve, Trump has created an advisory group and one of the names in the list has certainly raised a few eyebrows. That name is Vincent Kennedy McMahon, as you may know him – Vince McMahon!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, odds are you know about Vince or at least the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). For most, it is certainly a shocking notion or a meme-worthy concept to have a wrestling promoter be put in charge of the US economy advisory group.

However, we do have to acknowledge that Vince McMahon is probably one of the biggest and most successful businessmen in the world.

The US president announced this week he’s putting together a group that includes the commissioners of the nation’s top four sports leagues and other executives. Aside from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, Trump also named the likes of NBA’s Adam Silver, NFL chief Roger Goodell, MLB’s Rob Manfred and NHL boss Gary Bettman, UFC president Dana White, alongside Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

Speaking during a briefing on Tuesday, Trump talked about the importance of bringing sports back into everyday life after the COVID-19 pandemic forced major sporting events to halt play. He said:

“We have to get our sports back. I’m tired of watching baseball games that are 14 years old. ‘I haven’t actually had too much time to watch – I would say maybe I watch one batter and then I get back to work.”

Although Vince’s business practices and ideas haven’t been ideal or logical, it would be interesting to see what the outcome of a Vince McMahon and Donald Trump brainstorming session would look like. Let’s hope Vince still isn’t sour about what happened at WrestleMania
