Doctor-cum-model!

Beauty pageants are held all over the world and are one of the most watched events of the year. Young women from all over the world compete in these pageants and secure winning scholarships. Pakistan has also been announcing its Miss Pakistan every year since 2002.

To our surprise this year, a practicing Physician Dr. Kapotaqkhy Chanchala has been crowned the Miss Universe Pakistan 2023.

Kapotaqkhy Chanchala is a Muslim graduate of Agha Khan University and has worked in different hospitals. Currently, she is serving in Liaquat National Hospital, Karachi, and goes by the name Dr. Kapo.

During the interview talking about her unique name, she explained,

Wherever I go, I have to give an explanation for it. Kapot means pigeon, Aqkhy means eyes and Chanchala means active or naughty. It was my father’s creativity. He was a journalist by profession, poet by nature, and novelist by chance. He coined it and attached it to me.

Talking on the occasion the Miss Pakistan Universe 2023 explained what attracted her to the entertainment world.

Since childhood, I fantasized about entertainment ecstasy and kept track of celebrities. Though I peeped through the tunnel of entertainment I remained in oblivion about the way I should move on. It was through my discovery of the forum called Miss Pakistan World I got the way and finally jumped into the arena. Later Dr. Shafaq Akhter, former Miss Pakistan Universal 2022 inspired me the most.

She further explained, “Despite my jump into the entertainment industry, my target remains the same and that is to be a neurosurgeon in the future.”
