The US Democrat politician, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, tweeted a complaint about the $8 subscription fee for Twitter’s blue tick badge, to which the SpaceX owner cheekily responded, and had people around the world laughing at his sharp wit.
For context, Twitter’s new CEO, Elon Musk, declared on Tuesday that the popular social media platform will charge a monthly fee of $8 for all verified users with a blue tick badge. He added that the price will be “adjusted by country proportionate to purchasing power parity”.
After his decision to charge tweeps $8 for ‘blue tick’ badges, complaints start pouring in, to which he audaciously responded with the source of his new idea.
Totally stole idea of charging for insults & arguments from Monty Python tbh https://t.co/oFKRyp3BS7

Among all the grumblers was US congresswoman Ocasio-Cortez who mocked Musk’s paid plan in a tweet on Tuesday night, while suggesting that he is deceiving Twitterati into believing that payment is required for free speech.
Musk, who is known for his sharp tongue and mind, responded, “Your feedback is appreciated, now pay $8”.
This is not the first time that Ocasio-Cortez and Musk have crossed paths. Musk had previously fired shots over a poll on billionaires and politicians, in which he had openly dared her to start a poll for the public to decide who they trust less.
.@aoc I dare you to run the same poll with your followers

Another time Ocasio-Cortez took a pot shot was in a tweet about a certain billionaire with an ego problem, who controls a massive communication platform. Musk’s tongue-in-cheek reply to her had Twitter in fits.
Stop hitting on me, I’m really shy ☺️

In a now-deleted tweet, the congresswoman clarified that she had referred to Mark Zuckerberg.
Elon Musk has become the master of attention after he took control of the $44 billion microblogging platform last week. He immediately sacked some of its senior executives upon arrival, including its CEO and the Director of Legal Affairs. He also downsized 75% of the staff to execute his vision and improve Twitter.
