According to the reports, Engin Altan Düzyatan will portray the lead role of Hayrettin Pasha, the Ottoman admiral whose naval victories secured Ottoman dominance over the Mediterranean during the mid 16th century.

The series will reflect the end of the 15th century. It will showcase the adventures of four brothers in the Mediterranean, called Oruç, İshak, İlyas, and Hızır, who are the rulers of the seas in the Ottoman Empire.

Barbaros will be packed with action and most of the scenes will take place on a ship. It is also being said that Egyptian director Adel Adeeb has contributed to the filming of action scenes.

Along with the Ertuğrul star, Ulaş Tuna Astepe is also starring in the series. While some media reports suggest that Barbaros will go on air in early 2022, some news portals claim that it is expected to release in September 2021. However, no official statement has been released yet.
