Ertugrul fans need not despair. There may be no new episodes of Dirilis to look forward to but upcoming Turkish show Barbaros is all set to fill that gap.

Barbaros details
The show follows Ottoman admiral and commander of the seas Hizer Hayreddin Pasha. Ertugrul actor Engin Altan is set to play the lead role.
TRT1 hopes that the show will gain the same popularity Ertugrul did. After all, given production costs, it will need a rating of at least 7% to be considered for renewal for a second season.
The show has been in the works for three years and production was meant to start mid-July for a release in early 2021.
Turkish star Cagatay Ulusoy, famous for his lead role in Netflix’s “The Protector” said fans would love the show and also added that the show had a stellar cast. Ulusoy was also set to be part of Barbaros but will no longer be joining after talks with the broadcaster reportedly collapsed.
It took years before Dirilis Ertugrul was finally released in Urdu, and we’re hoping we don’t have to wait that long for this new show.
