About three months ago the game show Jeeto Pakistan‘s host Fahad Mustafa took to Twitter to warn parents about the famous social media app TikTok. A whole team of trolls reacted by attacking his show and the pointlessness therein.

While Fahad refrained from replying to any of these tweets, he recently came forward to explain why he is against the use of TikTok. He said,
I was shooting for a song and many people gathered because everybody has a camera and they want selfies from the best angle. It’s ok you take selfies with people.
But after that, I was dancing on a wall and the camera was moving with me and there were lots of people around 250-300 and I fell.
I tripped and fell on camera and got injured. Althoug, I gave my shot; I was limping walking back to my vanity and this boy runs up to me and says ‘Fahad Bhai please shoot one Tiktok with me’. I was bleeding at that time.
Then I thought its an addiction and you can’t figure it out that one person is in pain. What’s the point?
He added that making TikTok videos is a waste of time and effort. Having witnessed people getting up early in the morning and shooting videos for TikTok is not productive according to the Load Wedding hero.
He says the app is used to make videos of girls without their permission and threatening them later on.
I just said this because it is a misuse but I think its a mistake. My show is a game show, why are you expecting that? When did I say that I am highly educated and will lecture you about different things? Its a game show and it’s for fun.
You’re comparing apple and oranges like this. Its stupidity and that’s why I didn’t reply to tweets.
Apples To Oranges
While most people might agree that TikTok is a waste of time, it has created a lot of opportunities for the young. Just like Fahad’s game show is an entertainment platform made to earn revenue, many TikTok users also see the app that way.
A lot of famous TikTokkers have been earning through the app and providing entertainment for their target audience. It might be a little unfair to say that people who have worked hard to build an audience on the app are ‘wasting their time’.
Also, as Lil Dicky once said,
‘Why can’t fruit be compared?’
