Faisal Edhi Talks About Brush With Death [Video]

You never consider the risk rescue volunteers take every time they go out to save someone else’s life. Chief of Edhi Foundation, Faisal Edhi and Member of Sindh Assembly (MPA) Raja Azhar have been made all to aware of that fact after they almost drowned while volunteering for a rescue operation.

The two public figures and four other volunteers were aboard a Edhi Marine Ambulance Service boat, on a search operation. They were looking for eight people that had drowned in the Malir River. The operation took place in the deep sea near Sea View beach.

However, there good intentions were cut short when the boat capsized causing the volunteers including Faisal Edhi and MPA Raja Azhar to almost drown. Normally volunteers in sea rescue missions are supposed to be impeccable swimmers.

According to Express Tribune, there were no casualties. Luckily everyone was wearing life jackets and had a life-raft on hand.

In a video message Faisal Edhi narrated how a fishing boat passing by came to their rescue after the strong waves had overturned their boat.

After their boat capsize the six volunteers held onto the life raft for about half an hour until the fishermen from Ibrahim Hyderi came to their rescue.

The fisherman then sailed to the shore in Ibrahim Hyderi along with the six volunteers.
