Bollywood composer-singer Wajid Khan passed away today and artists on both sides of the border are grief-stricken. Now everyone’s concerned if this was Bollywood’s first COVID-19 casualty.
Bole Chudiyan singer Sonu Nigam broke the news of Wajid Khan’s passing. The 42-year-old singer-composer was a part of the popular musical duo Sajid-Wajid.

It is speculated that Wajid Khan passed away fighting the deadly Coronavirus infection, but there are no confirmed reports. However, according to filmibeat.com, Wajid was suffering from a kidney problem for the past few years and had reportedly been on a ventilator and was hospitalized due to this condition.

Wajid Khan debuted as a Bollywood composer with ‘Teri Jawani Badi Mast Mast Hai‘ in Salman Khan’s ‘Pyaar Kiya Tou Darna Kya‘ (1998). After that, Sajid-Wajid became Bollywood’s famed musical duo.
After that, the duo composed many of Salman Khan’s hit singles like ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi‘ and ‘Laal Dupatta‘ from the film Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
They composed four tracks for Salman Khan and Govinda’s Hello Partner. Sajid -Wajid also composed many hit tracks for the Dabangg franchise such as Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Hud Hud Dabangg, Fevicol Se, etc

That’s how Wajid Khan had such a close-knit relationship with Salman Khan. Even during the lockdown, he composed tracks for the Bollywood superstar.
In a cruel twist of irony, he also composed the song against coronaviris, Pyaar Karona, a pop anthem urging people to fight the COVID-19 outbreak. The single with Salman Khan’s vocals was released in April. Wajid-Sajid also composed Salman’s Eid special song, Bhai Bhai, a song about communal harmony.
Wajid Khan was also was a mentor of the music reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa.
