Lamya’s Poem will take us back to Rumi as a refugee

Hollywood actor Farhan Tahir’s next is a feature film about a child refugee. Lamya’s Poem cast a number of known faces and voices such as Mena Massoud.

Produced by the Unity Productions Foundation Lamya’s Poem is an upcoming feature film about a child refugee that find’s solace in Rumi’s poetry.

Pakistan’s Farhan Tahir continues to make waves in Hollywood. The Elysium actor shared the news on Instagram:

Written and directed by Alexander Kronemer, Lamya’s Poem follows a young refugee girl running away from violence and war. When she finds a book of poetry by the celebrated 13th-century poet, Rumi, she finds her escape.

In her escape she meets a young Rumi when he too was a refugee, fleeing from terrible wars of his time. When they share dreams, the little girl must help Rumi write a poem that will save her 800 years later.

In their shared dream the world is populated by monsters and other threats. These monsters represent the horrors of reality such as war.

Brandon Lloyd is the director of animation for the film.

The film includes famous faces such as Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Millie Davis (Orphan Black), and Faran Tahir (Iron Man). Faran Tahir will act as the movie’s equivalent of Iron Man and voice the character Baha Walad (Rumi’s father).
