Four Pakistani Movies to Watch in 2023

2022 was a great year for Pakistani movies, and 2023 promises to follow up exactly the same way.

Lollywood produced several huge box office blockbusters such as The Legend of Maula Jatt, London Nahi Jaunga, Joyland, which was nominated for an Oscar, Kamli, and Tich Button, in 2022.

With the advancement of time, Pakistan is producing new films in a wide range of categories that are capturing the interest of spectators. Since its inception, Pakistani cinema has been known mostly for its action, romance, and comedy films.

Here are the four most anticipated Pakistani films of 2023.:

1. MBG- Money Back Guarantee

The first official theatrical trailer of Money Back Guarantee is presented by ZASHKO Films in partnership with Gameover Productions and Distribution Club.

Money Back Guarantee, directed and written by Faisal Qureshi, recently released its official theatrical trailer, which stars Fawad Khan, Hina Dilpazir, Kiran Malik, Ayesha Omar, Ali Safina, Wasim Akram, Shayan Khan, Mikaal Zulfiqar, Gohar Rasheed, and Jan Rambo.

The trailer for the film is equal parts racy and witty, as it depicts individuals getting increasingly greedy of money and power. It conveys a sense of vengeance because the episodes revolve on the narrator’s que, who happens to be actor Fawad Khan.

The film was set to be released on May 22, 2020. However, because to the COVID-19 epidemic, the film’s release date was postponed. It was officially confirmed on September 6, 2022, that the film will be released internationally on April 21, 2023.

2. Sanak

Sanak

Sanak, a psychological thriller written by Vikram Bhatt, is set to hit cinemas this year. Sanak has received a lot of positive feedback and appears to be highly promising.

In a counter with media, Vikram Bhatt stated,

This is my most ambitious project ever because I’m writing for Pakistani cinema, I strongly believe the audience will enjoy the film as we have put a lot of thought into the screenplay development

Shyraa Roy stars in the psychological thriller with numerous fresh faces, like Resham, and Neelam Munir. It even features the cameos of Javed Sheikh.

The movie is also casting Muneeb Ali, Zubair Shariq, Beenish, Marhoom Bilal, Murad Kazmi and Zeenat Butt in parallel roles.

Sanak is set to release on 15th September 2023

 

3. Rang Ishqay Da

Rang Ishqay Da

Rang Ishqay Da is a musical, romantic, love story set in the Punjabi hamlet of Rangpur. Where it’s a custom that during the wedding festivities, young boys and girls throw mixed coloured water on each other. These enjoyable experiences might sometimes blossom into deep love.

Parvaiz Kaleem directed and wrote the film, which stars Iftikhar Thakur, Madiha Shah, and Amna Rahi.

The movie is set to hit cinemas on 13th January 2023.

4. Daadal

Daadal

Daadal is an upcoming Pakistani thriller film directed and written by Abu Aleeha.

The story’s lead is a Layari female boxer who becomes a contract assassin in order to avenge her sister’s honour.

The movie stars Mohsin Abbas Haider, Mahira Khan, Adnan Shah, and Sonya Hussain. It is set to be released on Eid ul Fitr 2023.
