“So, finally, I mean, we figured out a way to film it safely and there’s going to be a portion of it that we filmed outside because of, you know, for safety protocols.”
The actor was also asked if it would be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, but he didn’t spill the tea and said,
“I can tell you it’s not Ellen, and it’s not Billy Crystal. I can tell you who it’s not, but that’ll take a while, probably.”
Earlier, in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, HBO/HBO Max chief Casey Bloys revealed that filming for the TV special will begin this spring.
When asked about the status of the Friends reunion, he stated,
“The show will indeed see the six original stars reunite in person for a one-off TV event… The idea is that they would be together. The COVID situation has been complicated—not just for this, but for television production across the board…so we’re kind of dealing with that as it comes, but it will be this spring.”
