Guess What? These Two Famous TV Jingles Were Sung By Asim Azhar [Video]

Color us surprised!

Asim Azhar

Asim Azhar just sent us down memory lane with one of his original tracks (actually two of them, but we’ll get to that in a bit). And interestingly, when we say an original track, we don’t mean a song here. Its actually that very famous and catchy Dairy Milk jingle from an old television commercial (TVC) from more than a decade ago!

A lot of people didn’t even know that Asim Azhar was the vocalist on a very famous TV jingle. People even called the whole thing a ‘hogwash’ when a Twitter user first brought it up.

When Did Asim Azhar Record These TV Jingles?

According to the Hina Ki Khushboo singer, he was 10 at the time. That’s like 15 years ago!

The 22-year-old singer later shared the TVC.

The only thing that doesn’t add up is his age. Nonetheless, we got confirmation that Asim Azhar himself sung that Dairy Milk and Cocomo jingles on TV.

About the Singer

The Jo Tu Na Mila singer is the son of veteran actress Gul-e-Rana and pianist Azhar Hussain. He was born on October 29, 1996. Given his artistic family, it’s no wonder the Karachite took up singing at a young age.

In an interview, Asim said he began his vocation as a vocalist when he was only 16 years of age.

As to when people got to know of Asim Azhar, he gained fame back in 2013 when the then amateur singer was acknowledged by singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran for his cover of A-Team.

All this thanks to a BBC Asia Network radio host, Nihal Arthanayake that shared Asim Azhar’s cover and mentioned Ed Sheraan, asking him to check it out.

His musical muses or influences include Timberlake, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown. He wanted to make that kind of music (basically, R&B) here in Pakistan. And he grew up singing jingles for Dairy Milk and Cocomo.
