Child labor is no secret in Pakistan- according to a report by The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, more than 11 million children were working in the 1990s, and half of them were under the age of 10. If you haven’t seen child servants at the homes of your close relatives or friends, you might have seen them at a distant relative’s house. However, the internet lost its marbles over how Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khawar treat their child’s underage nanny.
It is no secret that thousands [if not millions] of children undergo the menace of child labor in the country. But to witness the employer treat these children inhumanely takes things further down the rabbit hole. A similar situation presented itself recently.
Many households hire underage children as maids, servants, and nannies because of their economical costs. But can you imagine having them sit on the cold floor in winters? Well, to put it simply; it’s barbaric!
A video of Hamza Ali Abbasi and Naimal Khawar’s son is making rounds on the internet. In the video, Mustafa can be seen sitting in a chair with someone holding him. It does not need a rocket scientist to realize that it is probably a servant and an underaged one at that.
If child labor wasn’t enough, then they made him sit on the cold floor. And he was hiding under the table – as if him being in the video was a big no. Before we jump into the public’s reactions, let’s take a look at the video:
