‘Harry Potter’, ‘Peaky Blinders’ Star Helen McCrory Dies at 52

The revered British star had been suffering from cancer.

Many of us lost another part of our childhood as Harry Potter actress Helen McCrory passed away. The English actress was 52-years-old.

The Harry Potter book series and movie franchise was a huge part of the childhood of kids that grew up in the early 2000s. For those of you that don’t know Helen McCrory essayed the role of ‘Narcissa Malfoy‘ in the Harry Potter franchise.

However, most people know her from her Peaky Blinders fame. In the historic crime series, the actress played ‘Aunt Polly‘.

The revered British star had been suffering from cancer. Her husband, fellow actor Damian Lewis, said she died ‘peacefully at home‘ after a ‘heroic battle with cancer‘. He tweeted how;

“She died as she lived. Fearlessly,” Lewis wrote on Twitter. “God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you.”

Helen McCrory started off as a theater actress and grew tremendously. After gaining massive fanbase and praise in the theater world, she moved on to ventures in film and television.

She even had her own production company  “The Public” with Michael Sheen. The company produced new work at the Liverpool Everyman, The Ambassadors, and the Donmar.

Helen is also known for her television role as Anna Karenina in the 2000 TV series. She even won Critics Circle Best Actress Award for her role as ‘Barrister Rose Fitzgerald‘ in the Channel 4 series North Square (2000).
