Has Saba Hameed Accepted Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s Apology?

Things got so serious, a film almost got canceled.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar - Saba Hameed

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has apologized to veteran actress Saba Hameed. If you remember, not too long ago, the writer was seen bashing the actress on television. Now that he’s apologized, Saba Hameed is willing to work with him on his upcoming film London Nahi Jaungi.

What happened between the two? In a TV interview, he had dubbed the actress as ‘dishonest’ about her work. He also named two other people for being dishonest. Unsurprisingly, he apologized to Mehmood Aslam for and Urwa Hocane as well.

“I can’t live without them and they can’t live without me. So I’m apologizing as I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings but say things in anger, I’m sorry.”

He also said that he forgives Iffat Raheem for the ‘nasty things’ she said. London Nahi Jaunga was on hold as the filmmakers wanted to cast veteran actress Saba Hameed in a pivotal role.

The Laal Ishq actress refused due to the Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s remarks about her. Now that the film’s writer has apologized to the actress she has agreed to work with him.

The writer has teamed up with director Nadeem Baig and producer Humayun Saeed for a sequel to blockbuster film Punjab Nahi Jaungi.

London Nahi Jaunga cast celebrated actresses Mehwish Hayat and Kubra Khan as the leading ladies while superstar Humayun Saeed will be the male lead.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s Controversial Views

After some controversial statements, the Kaaf Kangana creator clarified the issue in an interview with Entertainment.pk.

“I’m not an arrogant man, but is speaking softly convinces you of that, then I will speak in a soft tone from now own.”

As for his ‘ill-informed’ and adjective statements about women, he’s sticking to what he said. He claims that his opinion cannot be disagreed with. Khalil-ur-Rehman isn’t too fond of freedom of speech either, calling it ‘azadi-e-bakwas‘.

Is mein disagree karne wali koi baat ni thi (there was nothing to disagree about)”

Now he’s implying that women that were offended by the statements are ‘bad women’.

Har buri aurat ko bura lgay ga, par ye boht thori hain 35, 36 (All bad women will find it offensive, but they are so few, 35, 36).”

He went as far as to write this off as a foreign ploy by women sponsored to carry out a scheme.

“I don’t care. Ye funded auratein hain kisi mission pe ayi vi hain is mulk mein, (these are foreign-funded women who came to this country with a mission). They have nothing to do with the social set-up of this country, the religious norms of this country, the religious injunctions of my religion”

These dismissive comments towards women’s voices sound all too familiar. Has KRQ actually learnt something all this time or not?
