Have You Been Restored By the Sindh Govt? [Memes]

A hilarious meme is born!

Restored By Sindh Govt.

Yesterday, the people responsible for keeping heritage sites preserved in Sindh shared the news that they have ‘restored’ old heritage sites. Except there was one problem.

People were angered to see the beautiful historical sites ‘whitewashed’ in the name of preservation.

But leave it to Pakistanis to make fun of their own calamities like no one else. Everyone has now taken to Twitter to share their version of what ‘restored by Sindh govt.’ looks like.

Background

Before we get into the memes, here’s what happened. Sardar Shah, the Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Antiquities in Sindh took the initiative of preserving and restoring important historical sites.

Restoring sites means bringing them back to their original state, but what people got was a white-washed version of them. Let’s take a look:

Needless to say, people were pissed and took to their social media to express their dissatisfaction.

A meme is born!

The efforts put into ‘restoring’ old heritage has now turned into a meme trend. And people now have their own interpretation of what restoration might look like [if handled by Sindh govt. (we are kidding!)].

Government officials soon deleted their tweet on the ‘restoration’ of historical sites, but that did not stop people from trolling them. Let’s take a look some of these hilarious memes making rounds on social media:
