Fans of Pakistani dramas know that Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt have one of the best friendships out there and have even earned the nickname “Osmaya” from fans.
The two basically climbed the ladder of success together. With dramas like Aik Nayee Cindrella, Aunn Zara, Diyar-e-Dil and Sanam Maya Ali and Osman have given us some great projects.
But while the nickname sounds really cute and familiar, some fans have started to ship them as a couple. #Osmaya became a new social media trend and gossip mongers took this opportunity to spread rumors about their relationship.
On various occasions, both Maya and Osman have denied their dating rumors and have repeatedly emphasized that they are just good friends.
The birth of Osmaya
How did it all start though? Maya Ali shares how they found out about it in a recent live session with Pakistani designer HSY.
“It feels great but when this hashtag started, we didn’t even know what a hashtag is. In the beginning Osman used to say that they write the wrong spelling of his name, from Osman to Osmaya.”
“It was only after Diyaar-e-Dil when we found out that they have combined Osman and Maya together,” she further added.
From Colleagues to Real Life Friends
She also shared that they received immense love from their fans, but some also thought that they got married. They clarified that they are just good friends.
“It’s not like if you are good friends to someone, you have to marry them. I have a great understanding with Osman and we love each other as friends.,” she further added.
Talking about working with Osman again, Maya said,
“We still want to work together and we also received some scripts but we didn’t like them much. Obi said, ‘no Maya we will work together in good projects’ and I agreed with him.”
