Here’s What People Are Saying About the Music Video of Shae Gill’s ‘Sukoon’

Google ‘siren’.

The ‘Pasoori’ hitmaker, Shae Gill, is experimenting with her music and it seems like everything she touches turns to gold. She dropped two songs this season, and Pakistanis just cannot get enough of her soulful melodies and vocals.

The first song is her version of the iconic mehndi song, Latthe di Chaadar, for a women’s clothing brand, and the second is Sukoon — a collaboration with the Lahore songwriter-singer duo, Hassan and Roshaan.

Its music video was directed by Saad Yratta, and produced by Nael Hafeez and Suman Ayoub Yratta.

Sukoon has become highly popular among the public, but maybe for the wrong reasons. Here’s what netizens are saying about it.

Others are couldn’t quite digest the concept of the video and made scathing remarks about it:

Meanwhile, some viewers perceived it to have lesbian undertones, while the entire music video appeared unusual.

One netizen had the good sense to point out the entire purpose of a siren without alluding to the perception of the music video about Shae Gill serenading a mermaid.
