As the hype around Junaid Safdar’s nikkah picks up, we all want to know the details.
Junaid Safdar has been arranged to marry former politician Saif-ur-Rehman’s daughter, Aisha Saif. According to Maryam Nawaz’s tweet, the wedding date has been set for August 22nd.
While we already know the nikkah date and the bride, what about the venue and guest list? According to Dawn, the preparations have been made in one of London’s famous 5-star hotels.
With three thousand years of history, the origins of The Lanesborough Hotel date back to 1719.

Located on the Hyde Park Corner in Knightsbridge, this hotel has hosted plenty of celebs. Barbara Walters, Madonna, George Bush Sr, Cher, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Johnny Depp, Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey, and Pamela Anderson are among the many celebrities who stayed at The Lanesborough. In 2015, it was dubbed the most expensive hotel in London by The Telegraph.
A celeb-filled history is not all it offers. The Lanesborough houses a Michelin-starred restaurant, Céleste, famed for its scallop with celeriac and truffle, and the tiramisu. Will the nikkah be catered by the Michelin restaurant? We can only speculate.

So who’s going to get the first glimpse of the nikkah? So far we know Maryam Nawaz can’t attend. Lucky for him, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz supremo, Nawaz Sharif is already in London. Additionally, PML-N leader Ishaq Dar and his family are also based in London. They’ll probably be invited.
