People magazine recently declared Chris Evans as the Sexiest Man Alive, and there is not a lot of brain work to do here.
The selection was announced on Monday on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show and on the magazine’s website. The Avengers star joins fellow Marvel alumni Chris Hemsworth, Idris Elba, Hugh Jackman, Paul Rudd, and Michael B Jordan as a recipient of the honor.
Speaking to the magazine for its cover story, Chris Evans gushed, “My mom will be so happy, she’s proud of everything I do but this is something she can really brag about”.
He added, “This whole thing is tough to be interviewed about. It feels like a weird form of humble bragging”.
He also anticipated that he would be teased by close friends and remarked, “Really this will just be a point of bullying,” he joked in an interview.
“It’s ripe for harassment,” he acknowledged.
However, many fans have been claiming that someone else should have been the recipient of the award — Paul Rudd, who played the titular character in Ant-Man, should have kept the title.

Following appearances in several teen films, he gained major popularity for his portrayal of the Marvel Comics character, the Human Torch, in the Fantastic Four series in 2005 and 2007.
He gained more recognition for playing Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, in several Marvel Cinematic Universe films, from Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) to Avengers: Endgame (2019).
