Even though X, aka Twitter, remains “banned,” Pakistani users are experiencing difficulties using the popular social media app despite VPN. Don’t worry, it’s not our government, it’s the enemies of Harry Bōlz, the man formerly known as Elon Musk, hard at work.
In true Elon Musk fashion, the tech mogul took to X to explain why his social media platform experienced multiple outages. Musk claimed the disruptions were caused by a “massive cyberattack” originating from IP addresses in the “Ukraine area.”
“There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against 𝕏,” Musk posted at 10:25 PM on Monday. “We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing …”
The billionaire, who also happens to be the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, later elaborated during an interview with Fox Business Network’s Larry Kudlow. Speaking from Washington, D.C.’s Eisenhower Executive Office Building, Musk admitted that the company was still “not sure exactly what happened” but reiterated that the attack appeared to originate from Ukraine.
The chaos began early Monday morning, with Twitter users reporting issues accessing X at around 2:30 PM. Just as things seemed to stabilize, another wave of outages hit at 6:30 PM, followed by a third spike in complaints at 8:00 PM, according to Downdetector, a website monitoring service.
Some users attempting to log in were greeted with error messages from Cloudflare, a cybersecurity provider, stating, “Web server is returning an unknown error.”
