Hugh Jackman and Wife Deborra-Lee Call It Quit After 27 Years of Marriage

The couple had two children together.

After Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas’s unexpected divorce, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Jackman separated after 27 years of marriage.

The couple say in a statement,

We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage. Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.

It continued, “We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives. This is the sole statement either of us will make.”

Hugh, 54, and Deborra-Lee, 67, met on the set of the Australian TV series Corelli in 1995 and were married a year later, in April 1996. The Aussie pair, who share two kids, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, have been married for 27 years.

To celebrate their anniversary last year, the Wolverine star even made an Instagram post dedicated to her, writing, “Today I celebrate 26 years of marriage to my extraordinary wife. Every single day is filled with so much laughter, joy, and backgammon!!!! Deb, you light up my life. I love you with all my heart!”

Earlier this summer, the two were spotted at a Pink concert in London in a rare public appearance. They were all smiles and holding hands. In one of the photos, he’d placed his hand on her shoulder as he grinned towards the camera.

Their last red carpet appearance was at the Met Gala on May 1, and in July, they attended the men’s finals at Wimbledon.
