The Ramadan special Hum Tum serial is hitting the top charts not only for its entertaining content but also because of relaying important messages through light-hearted comedy. The drama points out the stereotypical issues of our society. From breaking the gender stereotypes to women empowerment and property rights, this drama is a breath of fresh air from our usual storylines.
Hum Tum is a rom-com serial written by Suno Chanda and Chupke Chupke famed writer Saima Akram Chaudhry. It is an interesting drama based on the story of Generation Z youngsters and their humorous fights. The drama story revolves around the life of three sisters and their love-hate relationships. The cute relationship between Sarah Khan (Maha) and Junaid Khan (Sarmad) and the never-ending banter between Ahad Raza Mir (Adam) and Ramsha Khan (Neha) is just superb.
Hum Tum is filled with hushed topics like depleting mental health of the elderly in our families, as well as the division of property among daughters in case of no male heirs in their life. The portrayal of ambitious girls and men helping around with household chores is so refreshing to see.
As the drama is nearing its end, aside from the phenomenal acting with their witty and quirky dialogues these mainstream messages have made the fans fall for this. Take a look at some of the reviews of audiences below,
One important thing mentioned in Epi 14, that is the distribution of the property among the daughters in ur lifetime when u don’t have son! I really liked this idea of Qutub Ud Din. Thanks to @saimakramwriter that she mentioned about it! Wish my Abbu would’ve realised!#HumTum

The way Neha spoke up the bitter truth just to protect her sister.Defending her & the telling her to atleast speak up for own rights. The unique bonding between siblings is what we all wanted to see🥹💘.#HumTum @ramshakofficial pic.twitter.com/M4jtXnVFGr— reeshayy🇵🇸 (@beingsapphires) April 15, 2022
#HumTum though light hearted and maybe undermined being a ramzan play, Hum Tum actually is tackling 2 very important issues, marrying a divorcee and marrying someone less educated than you. Love and respect for Saima Akram Chaudhry for ensuring her dramas always have a message.
