Humaima Malick Slams ‘Frustrated’ Trolls Criticizing Her Fashion Choices

The ‘Maula Jatt’ star calls out the double standards and selective criticism directed towards her.

In a recent episode of Mooroo Podcasts, acclaimed actress Humaima Malick addressed the persistent issue of moral policing and online harassment, shedding light on the relentless criticism she faces on social media platforms.

The Legend of Maula Jatt actor confronted the double standards and selective criticism directed towards her fashion choices compared to other Pakistani stars, who dress more provocatively than her.

Humaima expressed her frustration with the disproportionate focus on her wardrobe, stating,

You’ll comment on my clothes. There are many Pakistani actresses who do dramas and wear far more revealing outfits than I do. But no one talks about them. I don’t know why my [choices] are made into a huge deal.

She called for fairness in evaluating public figures and questioned the singling out of certain individuals based on their fashion preferences.

“People, on their wedding days, wear ghagra cholis. Their stomach is showing or anything is showing. Why criticize me only? People do need to think about this,” Humaima emphasized, urging a more considerate approach to online commentary. She highlighted the hypocrisy in the unequal treatment of celebrities, particularly when it comes to their personal choices.

The actress went on to address the toxicity behind online criticism, calling out individuals who hide behind screens to spew negativity. “What kind of mindset and jahalat do you have that you’re sitting in one place abusing other people? What a frustrated population,” she remarked, drawing attention to the damaging impact of online harassment.

Humaima recounted instances where her brother, Feroze Khan, who is known for his religious beliefs, became a target of criticism when tagged under her pictures or vice versa.

She stressed the importance of recognizing each individual as separate entities, stating, “We’re individuals, okay? I am my own person, he is responsible for his own character, right?”

In her candid conversation, Humaima Malick not only stood up against online trolls but also encouraged a broader dialogue on the issue of cyberbullying and the need for a more empathetic online culture.
