Actor Furqan Qureshi is on a high these days. He has two prime-time dramas on air, Aulaad, and Raqs e Bismil, on ARY Digital and Hum TV respectively. He recently did a web series, Ek Jhooti Love Story, with the iconic, Mehreen Jabbar and has many more interesting projects lined up.
However, life wasn’t always this good for Furqan. The actor has seen his fair share of struggles in the industry. In an interview with Something Haute, Furqan shared his life story which left everyone astonished.
Early days of struggle for Furqan Qureshi
Although Furqan enjoyed a great childhood, life took a drastic shift when he turned 20. His father passed away which created a lot of financial challenges for his family. Despite the odds not being in his favor, Furqan was adamant about entering the entertainment industry.
“I was thin, I was desperate and I was lost yet there was a divine power perhaps that pushed me to keep going forward.” He said. “I used to get Rs 2000 per day and I was not able to support my family at all. My sisters took up all the responsibility,” added Furqan. The struggle continued for many years.
First big break
Things took a turn for the better when Furqan was offered the drama serial 100 Din Ki Kahani on Hum Sitarey in which he played the part of a cancer patient. The drama helped him attract eyeballs but it was still difficult for him to find good opportunities.
“My only goal was to earn money hence I was ready to do any sort of role.” It was only after Meray Paas Tum Ho that he experienced true fame and that is why he considers the drama his biggest achievement.
The road ahead
“I was a mere friend of the hero but that drama opened up so many opportunities for me. Even the pizza delivery guy started recognizing me after MPTH,” said Furqan.

Today Furqan feels he is in a much better position and is content. On the work front, some exciting opportunities lie ahead for the actor but he will take his sweet time in choosing projects ahead.
