In yet another embarrassment for India and Narendra Modi’s ruling party, a man linked to the BJP was caught on camera having sex with a woman, who isn’t his wife, on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
The man, Manoharlal Dhakad, is the husband of Sohan Bai, a BJP-backed district panchayat member from Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh.
The viral video, now widely circulated on social media, shows Dhakad and a woman, reportedly a school teacher, engaged in indecent activity outside their car in broad daylight. The car is registered in Dhakad’s name, leaving little room for denial.
As expected, BJP officials have gone into damage control mode, insisting Dhakad isn’t a “primary member” of the party. However, his wife’s official position as a BJP-backed representative is a matter of public record. Meanwhile, the Dhakad Mahasabha wasted no time sacking him from his post, but the BJP’s response has been predictably evasive.
This incident once again exposes the double standards and moral hypocrisy rampant among India’s political elite, especially those associated with the BJP, who are quick to preach values but slow to practice them.
